“Milai Al Cana School” published 投稿日:2023.08.14

The English version of the narrative pedagogy “Milai Al Cana School” was published in the Library Chamber of Rakkoring.  Japanese version has already been posted there. This is a fantasy about the future of education in a narrative style.  The motivation for writing this story is that I wanted lots of people to deepen understanding of the problem of “truancy” or school absenteeism that I am interested in, and introduced in an understandable way of considering what kind of education policy is necessary to overcome this problem.  Tourists from all over the world take part in school tours at Milai Al Cana School in somewhere country sometime in the near future, and Ms. Peda, a representative teacher of the school acts as a tour guide. I hope that the narration of this guide will be an opportunity to reconsider the current state of education. In addition, the Study Chamber of Rakkoring contains translations of papers and articles on “truancy” and chronic absenteeism in the United States and Canada. Although it is currently underway, I am analyzing the medical records of children who had visited Mental Clinic Rakkoring for treatment of “truancy” or absenteeism (which I call Difficulties Attending School or DAS) for many years and explaining the characteristics of DAS in Japan.
